In 2009 I decided to learn to sew. And I like to do things myself.

So began my sewing escapades. With the help of others, books and the glorious internet, I just started and I learn along the way. As a self-taught seamstress, my projects are by no means perfect – ranging from epic failure to just a stitch off. Nothing turns out perfect, but that doesn’t always make it a failure. So one thing I’m learning is to appreciate the art of imperfection.

This would fall in the failure category

I was raised in Jackson, MS, where hubs and I met and got married, then stayed while he attended seminary. Following his graduation in 2013, we relocated to the beautiful Maryland Eastern Shore for him to accept a call to Providence Presbyterian Church.

We survived grad school!

Now that we’ve moved, I spend my time not only sewing, but also settling into our new home and getting to know our new city. And, of course, blogging about all of it.

  1. Hello I have looking over your blog and I love your sewing work…very nice. I was wondering, what kind of sewing machine you use and what camera or cam-phone do use to take such vibrant pictures?
    Thank you in advance,
